Pizza Cooking Guidelines

When you buy your pizza kit or just the dough balls, the dough and the sauce will be frozen. We freeze the dough balls after they have been kneeded and proved to the correct degree, without any preservatives or stabilisers. So that all you need to do is defrost, stretch, bake and enjoy!
It is a popular choice for a Friday night dinner, weekend outdoor lunch and especially children's parties. Kids love making their own pizzas!

So what you need to do.... Defrost the dough in its packaging in the fridge overnight or on the counter at room temperature. In a normal 20C kitchen the dough ball will get to the right condition in about 3 hours.  You will see that the dough will start tearing the clingfilm and trying to escape through the small wholes. It will feel soft, puffy, and pillowy.

Preheat oven to the highest temperature it can get to. Mine goes up to 250C and switch on the fan as well.

Flour your baking tray generously or, for an even better result, sprinkle some course cornmeal (corn flour). Flour your hands and gently stretch the pizza ball into a 9''-12” round or oblong fitting your tray. Watch the video on the left for help. Do not roll it with a rolling pin!  If the dough keeps shrinking, leave for 5-10 minutes and then stretch again. Remember, it doesn't need to be perfectly round, it will taste great if it's square!

Spread some tomato sauce and sprinkle your favourite toppings. Do not overdo it with the sauce and mozzarella - both contain a lot of water and you will end up with a pool of liquid in the centre. Bake for 10 minutes and check. If you like it crispier, put it back in the oven for a minute or two longer. The pizza is ready when both the cheese topping and the underside of the crust are golden brown. When you lift the side of the pizza, the entire round should lift with it, and not just the bit you are touching.

Serve hot and enjoy!
